Sustainability 

The population of Columbus is increasing along with the world population. The Columbus area has a limited amount of resources. There is a need for the development of the current food system in order to provide food for this and future generations.  

Another major challenge in having a sustainable food chain is the reduction of food wasted by consumers. The supply and demand of the food will be equalized if the food waste is minimized locally and globally.
